Anu Malik's #MeToo Clarification Receives Stern Reply From Sona Mohapatra; 'He Has No Right To Be On National TV'
Anu Malik and his clarification on the #MeToo controversy took media by storm. After being accused of sexual misconduct, the music composer was removed from Indian Idol 10 but later was approached again for the 11th season of the singing reality show. Him judging the show obviously didn’t make a certain section of people happy. Singers Sona Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin and others who accused him of #MeToo slammed the makers of the show for approaching Anu Malik to be the judge. But yesterday, Anu Malik decided to break his silence on this matter and penned down a letter that said that he is being cornered and suffocated. He also mentioned that the false and unverified allegations were levelled against him to ruin his career and reputation.

As soon as the post was made live, Sona who is quite vocal about this matter and has been hitting Anu Malik ever since he was accused of sexual misconduct, took to her social media handle and shared a long piece taking a jibe at him for playing the victim card. She first took to her Twitter handle and shared a few screenshots of Anu’s letter and her letter, tweeting, “Anu Malik finally wrote back to all of us last evening. My response to him, next to his letter. In case mine is too long to read, have also attached a shorter, crisper one, one amongst many on my timeline. Thank you @KallolDatta for saying it better #India @IndiaMeToo.”

In her note, she explained her perspective point by point. Her note she has mentioned the stories of Shweta Pandit and Indian Idol ex-producer Danica D’Souza coming out in open and telling their sexual harassment stories at the hands Anu Malik. When Anu’s note talked about the unverified allegation, she says there are multiple testimonies (which are mentioned on her note) of independent sane women speaking coherently about this matter.

She also mentioned that Anu Malik has no right to be on national television until he makes amends. She also called out at him saying that he isn't a role model.

Anu Malik is currently co-judging India Idol 11 along with Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani.
